Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 30, 2025

Our Commitment

At Black Rabbit, we are committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We design, build, and test our site according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

  • We build inclusively by default and review every release for accessibility impacts.
  • We test navigation using only the keyboard and screen readers.
  • We monitor new accessibility guidance and user feedback regularly.

Current Accessibility Features

  • Keyboard support: All navigation and interactive components are usable without a mouse.
  • Visible focus: A clear, high-contrast outline appears when links or buttons receive focus.
  • Skip links: A “Skip to content” link lets users bypass repeated navigation.
  • Text alternatives: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text; decorative images are properly marked.
  • Responsive layout: Pages adapt to any screen size without horizontal scrolling.

Recent Improvements (October 2025)

  1. Focus visibility (2.4.7): Added consistent, high-contrast focus indicators for all interactive elements.
  2. Focus not obscured (2.4.11): Adjusted scrolling and header offsets so focus rings are never hidden by sticky headers.
  3. Target size (2.5.8): Increased tappable areas for small icon-only controls (e.g., social, search, cart) to meet the 24×24 px minimum.
  4. Form semantics (1.3.1, 1.3.5, 3.3.x): Re-implemented contact form fields with explicit <label> tags, required indicators, autocomplete attributes, and aria-describedby associations. Added an aria-live region so errors are announced by assistive technologies.
  5. Modal & drawer semantics (4.1.2): Added role="dialog", aria-modal="true", and aria-labelledby to modals and drawers, ensuring focus is correctly trapped and restored.

What We’re Working on Next

  • Checkout experience (3.2.6, 3.3.7): Adding consistent help links and minimizing redundant entry where possible.
  • Contrast verification (1.4.3 / 1.4.11): Continuing audits of theme colors to maintain proper contrast ratios.
  • Ongoing QA: Periodic screen-reader and keyboard testing as part of each release cycle.
